Well not quite, but the tax man has had a long runing dispute with Mr Gaines-Cooper who thought he followed HMRC guidelines (IR 20) and as such was an X resident for tax purposes having bought a home in Sri Lanka. We recently traded our gas guzzlers for vw blue motion eco cars that do 1000 miles for £120 of diesel which cut our fuel bill from £800 per month to £240 per month. Furthermore there's no road tax and insurance dropped from £2000 per year to £300 per year. Eco is good or green is good. Next year vw tell me that diesel hybrids are coming and expect to approach 100mpg rather than the 50pmg these current ones achieve. Our gaz guzzlers did just 20mpg. This is looking... Read more
